Pediatric Occupational Therapy which focuses on helping children gain the skills needed for their daily occupations. Occupations in childhood include play, socialization, self-care, and school performance. We help children who have difficulties with fine motor skills such as, illegible writing, difficulties using scissors or utensils, and the inability to manage age-appropriate fasteners on clothing. We also help with children's play and self-help skills including not looking people in the eye, difficulties with feeding, picky eating, and extreme resistance to grooming or bathing activities. Our therapists also work with children who have sensory processing and motor planning difficulties including sitting still in school, difficulties changing routines, difficulty self-calming/self-regulating, difficulty following verbal directions, difficulty imitating body positions, and coordination problems.
